How do I know what group my athlete is in?

First, email contact@puresolbeach.com to discuss your athlete's previous experience level. Director Jules Colina will assign you to a trial placement class to properly assess your athlete's skill level and will inform you if they need to be in a different class. Class placement is strictly determined by skill level, and there is no designated time frame in which a player will move up to a more advanced class. Skill milestones will need to be reached, and this class progression is at the coaches'/director's discretion.

We encourage open lines of communication with players and parents and welcome constructive conversations about progress and goals. â€‹â€‹

What is BAND?

BAND is a group chat app that allows parents and athletes to stay up-to-date with coaches on news, announcements, updates, etc., and will be our primary form of communication for the day-to-day matters at PureSol.  Each age-appropriate athlete and at least one parent are required to download the app and set your notifications on high alert! Here you can keep track of upcoming events, local tournaments, polls, and whatever else you feel like sharing! Please keep non-volleyball talk to a minimum and be respectful of everyone in the group.

Coaches may send out a daily POLL to confirm attendance. This helps for efficient

and ideal practice planning. Make it a habit to check your app on practice days, hours before each practice, and ensure that you have enabled notifications.

What happens during adverse weather conditions?

Our BAND app will notify players and parents about weather cancellations or delays at least one hour before class. If you need more notice due to drive time, text 270-871-8506. During practice, we will abide by the  lightening rule within a 5-mile radius. Coaches urge parents to help monitor lightning apps when the weather turns inclement.

How will we know if practice is cancelled?

We DO NOT like to cancel practice, however it happens. In the event that a practice is cancelled, we will communicate via Band and Email, and will then reschedule that missed practice for a future date. If a player can not make the makeup session, unfortunately the session is lost. If we have multiple rainouts, there is a possibility for a  series of free weekend clinics to accommodate.

What if you miss a practice?

Practice sessions are "use or lose"; however, effective communication is essential! We can help you make up a session in another class on a later date. If you need to miss class, notify your coach on BAND ASAP,.

Where do I find tournaments outside of PureSol and when should I start competing?

See Tournament Tab. But in a nutshell, volleyaballlife.com. Confidence is key. When you are proficiently serving and passing and consistently controlling three-touch rallies, it's time to push your limits and register for local tournament events! The only way to build volleyball confidence is to play, lose, play, lose, and play some more.....then win! The more you play, the more experience you'll gain, and the skills and wins will start to come. It's also a great progress check to play a tournament to motivate the goals of your next training session.
